ASSAULT X2 TEAR IT UP

Well here it is the assaultx2 its more popular then i could have ever imagined I've built 3 in the last week in varying fabrics with varying features this pack is still evolving and its what i will be improving upon in the next couple weeks you can expect to see a slight change in the shoulder straps as well as improvement in the compression system i am also switching to finishing my seams with grosgrain instead of a double stitched  french this doesnt change durability it will just give a little more room as it will use about 1/8 inch less fabric in each seam the biggest change by far is i am seriously thinking of switching to xpac this is still up in the air feedback is welcome anyway enough of my blab lets talk about the packs. Up first is Eugene leafty's X2 it is built with a all dynemma gridstop body and side pockets and a 70d back pocket. The roll tops is sil. Custom work is the d loops on the shoulder straps total pack weight is 9.5 ounces. Next is Greg Foster's X2 it is also built with dynemma gridstop including all the pockets the roll top is 70d sil. custom work includes a hydration hook and ice axe loops it has a webbing waistbelt and comes in at 9.5 also. and last but most defiantly not last  is a beautiful X2 made for andy chasse this pack is made with a body of 70d sil a bottom of gridstop lycra mesh pockets and a 30d sil top

5x9 sil tarp

this is the prototype of the 4.8x9 sil tarps i will  be selling they weigh roughly 9 ounces and will cost 50$ shipped to the lower 48 the prototype is being sold for 40$ due to the fact the bonding on the ridgeline tieouts is a little sloppy as seen in the pics. This is purely cosmetic however the bonded tieouts are much weaker then the perimeter ones due to the fact they pull in a peeling action so keep that in mind when pitching it may also be a wise idea to attach a small piece of shock cord between the guyline and tieout so a gust of wind wont put such a force on it. I seam sealed the tarp but apparently the seam sealer had gone bad because it didnt adhere well as seen in the pics the powdery stuff on the tieouts is just baby powder to keep the seam sealed areas from sticking when you pack/unpack the tarp

THE SECOND ASSAULT IS COMING........!!!!!

Is it here. well no not yet but almost in essence i have finished the assaultX2 but i am waiting on the webbing ladder locks and buckles i ordered from quest outfitters. For those of you who don't know what the assaultX2 is its basically a assault on steroids its about 400 cubic inches bigger i would say it falls in between the uber and the assault its larger then the assault yet sleeker then the uber. i also tried a different pocket design that i will offer instead of having gathered fabric at the bottom of  the pocket the pocket actually has a rectangular bottom. This gives the pocket a lot more room but will be a 5$ up charge because it takes about 30-45 minutes more labor anyway enough of me blabbing heres some pics comparing the x2 to the assault sorry the pics suck so much its dark and raining outside i will take better ones as soon as the hardwear for the pack comes in

revolutionary stakes? well maybe not but there sure cool

these stakes are carbon with a total length of 7 inches and a total weight of 5.4 grams each. And let me say  there DURABLE keep in  mind there made using components for arrows. I shot competitive archery for 5 years and still shoot avidly and can say first hand arrows are tuff there being shot out of a bow at speeds over 300 feet per second or over 200mph!! with over 70lbs of kinetic energy  i have watched arrows slam 2x4s metal benches re bar and not break  these stakes are tough i was using a mallet to drive them into gravel and all kinds of stuff that would tear up  a ti stake of the same weight they also have better holding power then a ti sheperd hook of the same length these will be sold for 25$ for a 6 pack shipped to the lower48 or 40$ for a 12 pack

assault vs. uber comparison

here is some pics showing size comparison between the uber and assault as well as a pic showing the taper of the assault

world meet the uber

meet the uber this is in my opinion one of the best do it all packs ive made or seen the specs are as follows . 2,200 cubic inch main volume roughly 600 in mesh pockets constructed with a main body of coated 70d a bottom and shoulder/hipbelt of dynemma gridstop the roll top is sil. Total weight is 8.5 ounces i designed  this for winter trips the back pocket holds my snow shovel just perfectly and the size is right. As of now this is the biggest pack in the line but most likely there will be one around 3,000 cubic inches with  removable carbon frame stays and a assault X2 is also in the works this will be about mid way between the assault and the uber .As always the uber as well as all my packs is available in any combination of the following sil nylon 2nds black , 70d coated black, digital camo, dynemma gridstop, mesh black. Other fabrics are a option they may come for no extra charge or a small fee depending on the fabric i am also open to custom sizes for 5$ more if i dont have a pattern for that size already

alter ego assault

world meet the assault  this pack is built with a full dynemma gridstop body sil side and back pockets and 3d mesh padding on the hipbelt and shoulder strap. Keep in mind that dynemma gridstop is a very durable fabric I built this pack to handle some abuse as it will be used Bouldering  and bushwhacking. The volume is roughly 1,600 cubic inches internal the side pockets have room for a 1-2liter water bottle plus some snacks. The back pocket holds a water bottle well as well as snacks a tarp or maybe a mug total weight is 7 ounces price 65$ shipped to the lower 48
